REED Architectural Group is an award-winning design firm located in Venice, California. The firm’s philosophy focuses on using architectural elements as puzzle pieces, layering each program requirement and building element to create a cohesive functioning design expressed in a playful and timeless geometric form. Constructive collaboration and code expertise has allowed Reed Architectural Group to specialize in the discretionary planning entitlement process, utilizing Transit Oriented Communities (TOC), Exposition Corridor Transit Neighborhood Plan (TNP), and Density Bonus components. The firm provides architecture, architectural finishes, and interior design services varying in scale and building types including mixed-use, multi-family, commercial, industrial, and single-family residential.

JOHN G. REED, AIA
President / Principal
Over the years, John has maintained a design focus and gained recognition in the professional community. He obtained his architectural degrees from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and University of Southern California, and then became a licensed Architect. With John’s experience and knowledge, he works closely with his team to create individuals that become capable of navigating through all phases of a project from concept to completion. In turn, Reed Architectural Group provides stepping stones contributing to successful future Architects.
Besides being a dedicated Architect, John invested in the Venice community and was elected a board member of the Venice Neighborhood Council, the VNC Land Use and Planning Committee, and the Rules and Selection Committee. In his spare time, he enjoys painting, furniture design, reading, traveling, billiards, and spending time with his family and friends.
John Reed is a multiple award recipient from the Los Angeles Business Council, Gold Nugget, AIA Restaurant Design, and Concrete Masonry Associates AIACC. He has received U.S. Congressional, California State Senate, and Los Angeles City Recognition for Parc Ridge in Northridge, CA. He was published in Trends Magazine, Creating Your Dream Bathroom by Susan Breen, and Creating Your Dream Bedroom by Andrew Bannister.
